MTI was formed out of GenCorp's AMPE (Advanced Manufacturing
Process Engineering), a group founded in 1990 on the principles of Lockheed's
"Skunkworks." AMPE was a friendly fire casualty of corporate downsizing in
1996. MTI acquired AMPE's facility, equipment, and key people, who have been
awarded over 40 patents. MTI has a 9,800 square foot facility with a 5500
square foot equipment development lab in the Akron Area. Over 250 rubber and
silicone injection presses designed by MTI personnel are in service today.
Along with MTI's PREDATOR line of presses, special injection and advanced
assembly equipment are designed, animated, and built for the specific needs of
the customers. MTI is a certified Adept robotic integrator, and has animating
and video production facilities in house to produce video presentations of
customer concepts and production equipment. MTI also designs and builds custom
electrical panels for a variety of customers. MTI is a diverse process
development group dedicated to giving our customers a competitive edge by
applying and developing the right technology for their manufacturing needs. |
