Position Summary and Description
Plan, coordinate, control, direct and perform engineering and
administration of process/ environmental analyzer systems contracts to meet
functional and schedule requirements of customer orders while maintaining
division financial objectives. Perform all phases of project management or
contracts involving engineering systems.
Responsibilities
- Design of process/environmental analyzer systems. Interpret
functional requirements of specifications and select necessary equipment
based on sound engineering techniques and practical experience. Give
consideration to cost objectives and schedules during design development.
Generate drawings and place orders for required equipment.
- Perform contract administration tasks such as: developing schedules,
monitoring and controlling project costs, monitoring and negotiating
contract changes, identifying and resolving customer liaison.
- Ensure that maximum quality is achieved economically through careful
selection of materials, equipment and procedures to be used.
- Coordinate own efforts with those of other responsible personnel in
resolving and concluding final agreements with the customer on project
matters.
- Keep continually informed on the status of each contract progressively,
problems encountered and action taken in assuring conformance on
contractual obligations.
- Reconcile technical differences between bid proposals and proposed
contracts. Reconcile significant differences with the customer regarding
omissions, adherence to Division policy, modifications to contract,
statements of work, delivery schedules and other bid information.
- Make quotations and serve as customer's contact on project matters
throughout the life of such contracts.
- Maintain a file of standard contract clauses and assist in the
preparation and maintenance of manuals covering project procedures,
purchase sub-contracting, standard clauses and general project
administration policies.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Engineering
- 4+ years experience in engineering of controls and instrumentation,
procurement, or application/systems engineering
- Thorough knowledge of control strategies, instrumentation and control
hardware, engineering procedures and basic pneumatic/electrical system
understanding.
- Familiarity with terms and conditions of various types of
contracts.
- Can effectively function in a matrix and team environment.
- Familiarity with PC's, Microsoft Office Products, CAD/engineering
software, AutoCAD or AutoCADLT.
- Travel may be required.
- Regular attendance and the ability to get along with others.
