Research, development, design, and testing of large composite
structures for flight simulation and product packaging needs. Structures for
use as screens, mirror plenums, light tightening, and other supporting
structures are considered. Performs activities necessary to design, realize
and support engineering projects including vendor identification and
qualification. The individual operates under minimal supervision, must be
self-motivated, and able to accept responsibility.
Responsibilities
Structures Design. Prepares digital 3D CAD models for products and/or
systems. Directs or prepares documentation of mechanical designs including
part drawings assembly drawings, theory of operation, and training material,
parts lists, bills of materials, and specifications. Works with suppliers to
procure fabricated and commercial components. Supports production,
integration, and installation of designed products/systems. Participates in
collaborative design activities within a cross-functional team.
